About this content
This article reports the experience of the Mermãs Digitais project developed at the Federal Institute of Maranhão – Imperatriz Campus, focusing on the promotion of gender equity in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). In line with SDGs 4 and 5, the study adopts a qualitative approach and analyzes 17 publications linked to the project's actions. The results indicate that methodologies such as gamification and project-based learning favor girls' engagement, self-confidence and performance in technological content. Despite advances, barriers such as gender stigmas and access limitations persist. It is concluded that the project contributes to expanding women's participation in technological education and can serve as a model for other inclusive initiatives.
